Causes & Symptoms
ED can happen at any age
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) can make your sex life become non-existent. Also called impotence, ED occurs when nerves in the penis can no longer stimulate blood flow to develop an erection. This is a common occurrence that increases with age, but can actually happen to younger men and comes without a lot of warning.

Erectile dysfunction is a problem that affects millions of men worldwide. To put it simply, ED is a condition where you are unable to get hard or stay hard for long. So, ED is a big issue that is a major source of concern in men. Most doctors believe that men tend to have a bout of impotence once in a while.
Now, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, if you fail to get an erection 25% of the time you try to have sex, then you are suffering from erectile dysfunction.

The good news is that ED is not an issue that is new to medicine. It is a problem that has been around for centuries and, therefore, there are different types of treatments that you can try to correct the problem.

Risk Factors
If you are suffering from erectile dysfunction, you are not alone. According to the CDC, it is believed that there are over 18 million men in the United States aged 20 years and above that are suffering from erectile dysfunction. The study also revealed that there are approximately 600,000 men in the US between 40 and 70 that are experiencing some level of ED at least 3-4 times in a year.
Erectile dysfunction is primarily associated with older men. However, this condition affects roughly 10% of men between the ages of 20 and 29. It also affects between 5% and 17% of men between the ages of 40 and 49. Men that are 70 and older have between 15% and 34% chance of being afflicted.

Still, impotence can be caused by several other factors besides age. That’s because roughly 61% of men 60 years old and above are still sexually active. In fact, most men 60 years old and above report having the same sexual experience as they did while in their 40s.

Serious erectile dysfunction, such as the inability to get hard at all, is often associated with diseases rather than age. Men who are 50 years old and above are more prone to fall victim to diseases such as diabetes, cardiac ailments and high blood pressure, making them much more susceptible to erectile dysfunction than men who are between 20 and 49 years old.
Change in Lifestyle
Lifestyle changes have also been attributed to erectile dysfunction. Some of the lifestyle factors that can trigger ED are:

• Use of tobacco: Most men who use tobacco suffer from erectile dysfunction at some point in their lives because smoking increases the likelihood of suffering from blood vessel disorders. For example: atherosclerosis and high blood pressure.

Consumption of alcohol: Excessive consumption of alcohol can also trigger ED. This is because alcohol functions in depressing the central nervous system in addition to impairing sexual functions.

There is nothing wrong with getting older and having a hard time getting an erection, although when it happens to you it can be a catastrophe. For all of human history this has been the case and there is no reason to believe it will change at all in the future.

It is a part of human evolution, which has not died off through natural selection. It is unfortunate, but true. Still, this does not mean that modern science and medicine can’t help you to overcome the problem.

If you are faced with the erectile dysfunction problem, you can now get the help that you need from erectile dysfunction medication or you can choose natural forms of ED solutions. If you are older and in need of a boost to get back to the glory days, either solution could be for you.

Still, you have to decide which type of treatment is going to be right for you. This is a hard choice and it is not one that you should take lightly. A lot of factors go into which method will bring you the greatest success, if any.

If you are truly going to make a difference in your own life, you need to understand that it is possible you will be unable to get a quick fix immediately. You may even have to face the fact that, until the root cause can be addressed and corrected, a quick solution may not be available or could even
be harmful.

You might have to test a few things out and see what might work for you. Once you do this, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to get over the problem and have a good time with your life once again, unless there is something seriously wrong.
If you want to get back the golden years, it is going to be more than just the ability to get an erection. You will need to get over the erectile dysfunction in a way that is much different – such as increased vigor and testosterone. All of these things are a package - sometimes that package can come in the form of an erectile dysfunction tablet, other times not.

There is no better way to get back to the golden years of your youth than to have sex with your partner as much as you possibly can.
